Our New Winter “Rig”

Well, here it is…our new winter “rig”. To some people like my dad, that might have meant an 18-wheeler, to others a 4WD truck.  To us that means….

Our new winter rig...it was too good of a deal to pass up!…a snowmobile! Yep, here she is; a 2006 Yamaha VK Professional. Isn’t she pretty?

When I was in Duluth a couple weeks ago, I had to stop by RJ Sport and Cycle to pick up ski skins for the Yamaha we bought last year. While I was waiting for the salesperson to grab the part, I stopped over at the sales department to say hi to Stan. We bought all our Honda ATVs from Stan so jokingly  (since we weren’t in the market for a new machine) I asked him what super-great deals he had on new snowmobiles. He knew I was joking but he said he just HAD to show me what he had just taken in on trade. If you can’t guess it’s the machine above. This machine was $10,500 new in 2006 and the 2010 machines are pushing $11,000! Since this was was used, the asking price was just about 2/3 of new and it only has 200 miles on it…no, I did not forget a “0″, so it’s practically new. So while we weren’t in the market for a snowmobile, when I saw that deal, we became in the market.

Now all we need is snow so we can use it, and pay for it. We have already had to reschedule a ride for this weekend and if we don’t get snow soon, we might be having to cancel more. C’mon snow, not only do we need it to run our dog sleds, we need it to ride our new rig! :-)
